Bizarre Love Triangle

Boo! fell in love the day we moved into the new apartment.

Stella is a beautiful black lab with a delicate snout, a cute smile and a constantly wagging tail. She lives in the apartment below ours. Every time Boo! comes back from a walk, he stops by her door and looks longingly up at the door handle. He’s been lucky enough to catch her a couple of times and has enthusiatically bumped noses with his lady love.

But there’s a snag in the bliss. Stella already has a boyfriend. He is a short-haired and tawny-colored mutt. They have dates in the local dog park and go for long walks up and down the block.

Boo! is none too pleased when he sees them together. He barks fiercely at his rival with all the might of his eighteen pounds, which elicits a lot of laughter from all the bipeds involved. (Sorry Boo!) Stella continues to wag her tail. After all, she’s getting all the attention. The rival will occasionally bark back. After all, he must defend his honor, dog-style.

Despite this, Boo! has not last hope. He keeps looking up a Stella’s door. Perhaps some day it will open and she’ll only have eyes for him.

[…] There are all the little “B” dogs: Beau, Butters (yes, via South Park), Blackjack, Bandit (not little, but aptly named; he tried stealing my knitting) and I know I’m forgetting some. Oh, and Bella. She’s the sweetest Doberman I’ve ever met. I was thinking that Boo! might have a crush on her, but we haven’t seen her often enough to confirm it. Personally, I still think Boo! is still in love with Stella. […]
